The World of Coca-Cola is a museum whose exhibits show the history of The Coca-Cola Company and its well-known advertising. In addition to the museum exhibits there are several entertainment areas and attractions. It is located at Pemberton Place, a 20-acre complex located across Baker Street from Centennial Olympic Park and the Georgia Aquarium. The museum opened to the public in May 2007, replacing a smaller museum located a few miles away.
Visits begin in "The Lobby," which features large Coca-Cola bottles made from different materials from around the world. Next is the "Coca-Cola Loft," a collection of Coca-Cola advertising artifacts dating back as far as 1905. Guests browse the exhibits while waiting to enter the "Happiness Factory Theatre," where they can view a documentary featuring the characters of the Happiness Factory, a key part of Coca-Cola's current advertising campaign, "The Coke Side of Life."
As the film ends, the screen scrolls upward, revealing a walkway into "The Hub." From here, guests can visit the various attractions in whatever order they choose, all of which can be accessed from The Hub.
Museum attractions include the Coca-Cola Polar Bear, Bottle Works (a fully functioning bottling line), In Search of the Secret Formula (a 4-D film presentation), Pop Culture Gallery (exhibits showing how Coke has influenced popular culture), Perfect Pauses Theater (shows three short films showing Coca-Cola's advertising efforts), Taste It! (where the various Coca-Cola products may be sampled), and the Coca-Cola Store (where guests can purchase Coca-Cola-themed products).
